Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW)

Introduction

In Malaysia, Manufacturing Bonded Warehouse is known as Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) established under the provision of section 65/65A of the Customs Act 1967. LMW was introduced line with Government’s policy to further promote the development of the export-oriented industries. LMW enables manufacturing processes to be carried out in licensed warehouses subject to minimal customs procedures. Raw Materials/ components used directly in the manufacturing process are exempted from customs duties and sales tax.

This course is meant for employees from manufacturing and Logistics who are keen to enhance their knowledge and understanding on the concept, current procedures, documentation, restrictions and new regulations in respect to the facilities. This course also is designed to provide in depth explanation pertaining to the policies and regulations such as Eligibility, Types of Premises, Location of LMW, Application for License and Renewal of License. In addition, this Course also serves as an avenue for the participants to clarify any doubts or problems and issues related to LMW.
